James Matthew %u201cJ. M.%u201d Barrie (May 9, 1860 - June 19, 1937) was a Scottish novelist and playwright. He had a distinguished career, but is primarily remembered for creating Peter Pan and his supporting characters. Barrie was born in Kirriemuir, Scotland, and developed a passion for storytelling at a young age. His works often explore themes of childhood, imagination, and the longing to recapture innocence. His most famous creation, Peter Pan, first appeared in The Little White Bird (1902) before becoming the subject of several plays and novels, including the beloved stage play Peter Pan, or The Boy Who Wouldn%u2019t Grow Up (1904) and the novel Peter and Wendy (1911). Barrie was also a generous philanthropist and maintained close relationships with the Llewelyn Davies family, who inspired him in the creation of Peter Pan.JAMES MATTHEW BARRIE
